How to Order — Our Export Process
Simple, transparent, and structured. Here is exactly what happens from your first message to the moment your shipment arrives.
End-to-End Clarity
No Surprises. No Guesswork.
Many first-time importers hesitate because the process feels unfamiliar. We remove that barrier completely. Below is every step we take together — from your inquiry to your delivery — so you always know what to expect and what comes next.
Inquiry Day 1
Send us your requirement via our enquiry form, email (sales@ternsexim.com), or WhatsApp. Include product, grade, quantity, and destination.
Quotation Within 24 hrs
We respond within 24 working hours with a detailed quotation: unit price, Incoterms (FOB/CIF), lead time, and payment terms.
Proforma Invoice
On confirmation, we issue a Proforma Invoice (PI) detailing specifications, quantity, pricing, and terms for your approval.
Payment Terms
Trial and first orders: 100% advance. Established buyers (after 5–8 successful shipments): 70–80% advance, balance against shipment. Payment via Wire Transfer (T/T) or Letter of Credit (L/C).
Manufacturing 7–21 working days
Production begins on payment confirmation. Manufacturing and dispatch: 7–21 working days, depending on product, quantity, and specifications.
Quality Inspection
Every order undergoes quality checks and is supplied with Mill Test Certificates (MTC). Third-party inspection (SGS / BV / TÜV) available on request.
Shipping
Primarily sea freight; air freight available for urgent or sample shipments. We supply on CIF and FOB terms from any major Indian port (Chennai, Tuticorin, Mumbai/Nhava Sheva, Mundra). CIF is our preferred term for new orders; FOB is available for established buyers or against 100% advance payment or a confirmed Letter of Credit (L/C).
Balance Payment
For established-buyer orders, the balance is settled against a copy of the Bill of Lading (B/L). Shipping documents, including the Bill of Lading, are released once the balance payment is confirmed, and orders may be shipped on "To Order" B/L terms to ensure secure handover.
Export Documents
We provide the complete export document set: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Mill Test Certificate, and Packing List.
Delivery Destination port
Your shipment arrives at the destination port. We remain available for support throughout customs clearance and beyond.
